Security Issues with MacOS High Sierra

Since its initial release earlier this year, it has recently been revealed that users of the newest MacOS High Sierra operating system, have been able to access it without using a password.

Users have found that if you type “root” into the user name section and just leave the password field blank after hitting enter multiple times the system will allow you to login.

This has come as a shock to many users who feel that this kind of issue shouldn’t happen as they buy with the confidence that the security and privacy should be up to scratch.

After the issue was been found, Apple have rushed to release a security fix, and in doing this, some users have discovered that their file sharing service hasn’t been functioning properly.

Although this hasn’t been the only issue Apple have faced, just last month users faced a similar password issue when pressing the password hint button. Some users found that it would just simply show the entire password.

What did Apple have to say

The firm have admitted that they have ‘stumbled’ with this latest release.

“We greatly regret this error and we apologise to all Mac users, both for releasing with this vulnerability and for the concern it has caused

With the constant increase in hacking, the news doesn’t bode well for Apple.
